Doorland was founded by Elio Granzotto. Elio began his trade in Italy, where he was renowned as a classic art wood sculptor, specializing in fine intricate wood designs. His talents were well received by custom home builders and architects, who commissioned him to create entry-way systems, cabinetry and custom wood home décor.


Once he had completed his first custom door project, in 1978, Elio’s success extended through the industry at large. His vision included a consultative approach, traditional work ethic, flexible design and strong client collaboration. In 1979, his vision was realized with the formation of Doorland Doors.

Elio’s natural craftsmanship and dedication were the beginning of a family tradition, one on which the company is still based. The values that were evident years ago are still part of The Doorland Group today.
